You build an army by spending Army points on Recruitment Tiles, then spending more on Recruitment Options that fill the slots on those tiles. Each tile and option shows its cost in the bottom corner.
Slots
- An option must match the slot size. Wide slots take wide options (squads and medium vehicles). Narrow slots take narrow options (single units, gear, traits, customizations, small orders).
- At least one colour stripe on the option must match a stripe around the slot.
- Common options have no colour stripes and fit any army slot, except the single slot on a hero tile.
- Order options carry command stripes. They only fit Command and High Command tiles.
- Customizations are for Characters. They fit the slot on a hero tile and the Command tile slots.
- Gear, trait and customization markers only help units shown on the tile that holds them. On a Command tile they help the whole army.
Army size
- Free Battle Mode suggests 150 to 250 points for a small game and 500 or more for a large one. Championship games use 250 points and a maximum of 4 Order Tokens.
- Do not spend every point on tiles. Options are what give an army its edge.
Breaking points
The small red squares on a tile or option show how many of its units must be destroyed before it breaks. The tile art shows them, and the builder counts them for you.
If a slot looks wrong
The size and stripe data was read from the tile art. If your physical tiles disagree, tick "Show options that do not fit this slot" and place the option anyway. It will be flagged in amber.
